Managing rooms & rates¶
To create and modify rooms and rates, you must understand the relationships between room types, rate plans, and products:
- Room types contain information about the physical details of a room.
- Rate plans contain the name of a rate.
- Products connect room types and rate plans, and add extra information about cancellation policies and meal plan options.
You can connect one rate plan or room type to multiple products. This means you can create multiple combinations out of the same rate plans and room types.
Pricing¶
Setting prices does not happen at room type, rate plan, or product level. You specify prices when you specify the availability for a room.
