Step 2 – Check the availability and select the room(s) you want to book¶
You have created inventory, rates and restrictions for your test property. Now is a good time to proceed to the next step.
Check the availability¶
Go to https://secure.booking.com/book.html?test=1;hotel_id={property_id}. Ensure that you use your test property's ID to replace {property_id}.
The system will then redirect you to a page where you can specify the check-in date and the number of nights you want to book. Specify the check-in date and the number of nights you want to book, and then click on Check availability.
If you have previously created inventory and rates for that period, you will find the various available room types and the prices with a specific number of guests.
Why do I only see a list of other properties and not my test property?
The reason is that the period you have selected does not have inventory and/or prices specified. Another reason could be that certain restrictions restricted the period. Check what you have done in step 1 to ensure you have created availability correctly. Make the necessary adjustment and try again.
Select the room(s) you want to book¶
Click on the Select rooms column to select the number of room(s) you want to book for the desired room type. And then click on I'll reserve.
Creating test reservation with children
For test reservation with children, take the following steps:
1. Specify the number of room(s), adults and children you want to book¶
Access the test link https://secure.booking.com/book.html?test=1;hotel_id={property_id}&lang=en&room{sequence_of_room}=A,A,{age_of_first_child},{age_of_second_child} by specifying the test property ID, the number of adult(s) and the age of child/ children of each room.
The following table describes the required elements for this test link:

2. Identify the room(s) you want to book¶
Identify the roomtype option(s) with the number of occupancies and prices that match with your search criteria.
Assume we make a test booking with one room for two adults, a 6-year-old child and a 15-year-old child, with the following prices for adults and children:
- The price for two adults in the room is EUR 100
- The children price for a 6-year-old child is EUR 20
The total price of the room will therefore be EUR 170.
Locate the price option EUR 170 among the available choices. Note that it should be flagged as Includes children rates in the Today's price.
3. Select the room(s) you want to book¶
Select the number of room(s) you would like to reserve for the desired roomtype(s) with the drop-down menu in the Select rooms column. Then click on I'll reserve.
